On Wednesday, 16th October, the meeting with the Mayor, members of the Working Group and representatives of OPTIMUS was held. The meeting was held in order to present the results of the second phase of the project and to determine the next steps.

At the beginning of the meeting the Mayor of Loznica, Vidoje Petrovic said: "Improving the local administration is one of the important tasks we dealt with during the last years. Of course, there is always room for improvement, and we will achieve that with this project. I am pleased with how the project is carried out so far, particularly with City employees who have given their best in implementing all activities. Consultants of OPTIMUS provide permanent support, their advice means a lot to us and we hope that such successful cooperation will continue."

Head of the City Administration Milojka Smiljanic added: "The City administration should at the most respond to citizens' demands. We have the lowest taxes in Serbia, but deadlines should be shortened. We must ensure that each document indicate the date when it reaches a competent authority in order to meet deadlines better."

Mayor Petrovic added: “The City of Loznica was one of the first three certified cities in Serbia to have a business friendly environment by the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED). Despite this fact, we are not satisfied with the current trend, that's why we want to analyze the implementation of regulations under the jurisdiction of local authorities. We are ready to play an active role in this process and we want to send a clear message to the central level of government that everyone within their jurisdiction has to do its part of the job to attract new investors."
