End of the project first phase in Leskovac

On Tuesday 23th July, the Working Group meeting was held in Leskovac, presenting the report on Project activities and results so far. Hereby the first phase of the project "Improving environment for businesses at the local level through regulatory reform", which lasted from late March to late July, ended.
The most important activities of the first phase were related to the training of the Working group members and preparing an inventory of administrative procedures, providing an overview of the present situation in the City of Leskovac. Inventory contains a total of 207 listed administrative procedures, which are examined, reviewed, and prepared for upcoming economic analysis.
The Working Group adopted the proposed draft Communication Campaign Plan, which will enable timely informing of public regarding all important steps in the project.
Mayor of Leskovac , Mr.Goran Cvetanović acknowledged the efforts of all employees and said that regulatory reform is extremely important for the local government because citizens and business sector will be satisfied with the performance of the City government, and because the realization of their rights under the jurisdiction of local government will be easier and faster in the future.
As reported by the Jug Medija, Serbia is at a very low place in the World as regards to the number of days for the issuance of building permit – it takes 250 days to obtain a permit on average.
In its next phase, the project will be focused on simplifying and improving administrative procedures. Announced consultations with the business sector will begin next week at the Chamber of Commerce in Leskovac.
