Training on "Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA)"

Training "Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA)" was held for members of the consulting team SCTM and OPTIMUS- Center for Good Governance in Fruska Gora on 13 and 14 May. The training was held by Mr. Roman Ladus, an expert in the area of regulatory reform, regulatory impact analysis and improvement of the investment climate. In his many years of practice, Mr. Ladus worked on successful projects of regulatory reform and RIA that were funded by the EU, USAID, UNDP and the World Bank.
During the two days of training, the participants are familiar with the principle, importance and role of RIA in improving the process of creating regulations and policies. It was presented the experiences of other countries, the European Union and Serbia in the implementation of RIA to the participants. Moreover, trough theoretical presentation and interactive exercises the participants become familiar with the most important elements of good practice and RIA.
On the second day the discussion was developed among the participants about the quality of local decisions and how to improve, as well as regarding the possible application of the principle RIA at the local level in order to improve the quality of local decisions.
OPTIMUS-Center for Good Governance and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) will continue with the organization of training courses and workshops to direct cities and municipalities to use more professional and more sophisticated methods for the implementation of regulatory reform.
