Signed Contract Agreement on the project implementation in Gornji Milanovac

An agreement on the implementation of the project "Improving Environment for Businesses at Local Level through Regulatory Reform" was signed between the Municipality of Gornji Milanovac, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) and OPTIMUS - Center for Good Governance. The project, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) will be implemented over the next year and a half. Head of Municipal Administration Gorica Petrovic, heads of all municipal departments and representatives of OPTIMUS- Center for Good Governance attended the first meeting of the Working Group that was held on Tuesday, 16th April 2013 in Gornji Milanovac.

At the beginning of the meeting all members of the Working Group, including heads of all municipal departments were presented. The Working Group is led by the Coordinator Zoran Drinjakovic, Head of Department for Public Housing and Municipal Planning.
Representatives of OPTIMUS - Center for Good Governance Sladjana Karavdic Kocevic and Katarina Milanovic briefly presented the goals of the project, its phases, and the time frame of the project as well as examples of good practice in Serbia and countries in the region where the project has already been implemented.

Gorica Petrovic, Head of Municipal Administration, emphasized that she was pleased that the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and OPTIMUS identified the Municipality of Gornji Milanovac as a partner on the project because of previous efforts and results in improving public administration. This is already mentioned on the website of the Municipality (http://www.gornjimilanovac.rs/sr/saopstenja/index.htm).
Moreover, it was agreed that the first phase of the inventory of administrative procedures preparation should start in early May 2013.

Municipality of Gornji Milanovac is the fourth location that will implement the regulatory reform as part of the Project with the goal to increase the competitiveness of the municipality and create better investment conditions.
