30.3.2013. 00h

Within the framework of the preparatory phase of the Project “Improving Environment for Businesses at Local Level through Regulatory Reform”, on 28th and 29th of March 2013 in Leskovac, training for the members of the Working group and public employees, who will be involved in the Project, was delivered.

Training participants were introduced to the process and methodology of regulatory reform and the preparation of inventory of administrative procedures under the jurisdiction of the City Administration.

The stages of the process and the role of local authorities and City employees were presented in detail. During the training, the filling of Inventory submission form was practically exercised. Moreover, the importance of active participation of employees in the preparation of proposals for shortening deadlines, elimination of documentation, reducing taxes, etc. was emphasized on the training.

Goran Cvetanovic, Mayor of Leskovac highlighted the importance of the project for creating a more favorable environment for investment and business development. He stressed that “the priority of the local government in Leskovac is elimination of administrative barriers that slow economic growth and new employment, and that this goal can be achieved through regulatory reform.”

Marina Jankovic, Head of the Working team for Regulatory Reform in Nis, presented the results of an identical project implemented in the City of Nis from 2009-2010. This example of good practice was of great interest to the trainees, especially the practical application of electronic registry that facilitates clients to address the local administration in a transparent manner.
