On March 13th in Novi Pazar, at the meeting of the Working group for the regulatory reform, representatives of OPTIMUS - Center for Good Governance presented activities carried out in the first phase of the Project, results of consultation with the business sector and results of the economic analysis of the administrative procedures before the reform.

The meeting, attended by all heads of the City Administration, was opened by the City Mayor Meho Mahmutović, who stressed that "faster and better enforcement of procedures, professionalism, and strict compliance with the legal framework should be the main features of the City Administration."

"Thanks to this Project, the City Administration will become functional institution, whose work will meet the needs of citizens, businesses and entrepreneurs. This institution should become the brand of effectiveness”, said Mr. Mahmutović.
The report on the first phase of preparing the Inventory of administrative procedures in jurisdiction of the City Administration was presented to the Working group. Inventory consists of total 193 procedures and was prepared by the City employees, with support of OPTIMUS.

Report on the implementation of the second phase refers to consultations with the business sector, which took place in mid February. Through the report, the Working group had an opportunity to get acquainted with the comments of the business sector representatives related to the administrative procedures in the field of construction, occupancy of public land, environmental protection and other areas.
Economic analysis of administrative procedures was of particular interest to the members of the Working Group. The analysis shows the direct and indirect costs for each procedure separately. The economic analysis will help the systematic approach and quantifying the results of the reform.
