City Council of Leskovac, on the session which took place on August 17th this year, decided to confirm the proposed contract on realization of the project "Improving Environment for Businesses at Local Level through Regulatory Reform". The project will be contracted between City of Leskovac and SCTM and OPTIMUS – Center for Good Governance. In the implementation of the project City will invest 15.500 EUR.
OPTIMUS' director Slađana Karavdić Kočević met the mayor of Leskovac Slobodan Kocic and other City heads in the second half of March this year and they agreed to pursue the cooperation on the project of systematic regulatory reform of administrative procedures related to business and introducing Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) principle. This decision of the City Council is a necessary step toward realization of that cooperation. Expected results of the implementation of the project are: direct and indirect savings for business, that would lead to smoother operation of companies and increase competitive advantage of Leskovac; improved transparency of procedures through legally secure e-Registry which would increase access to information and reduce possibility of corruption; improved efficiency of services provided by public administration, through reducing of deadlines, streamlining procedures and reforming administrative processes.
