Three year project on improving business environment on a local level

Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities in cooperation with OPTIMUS – Center for Good Governance, has started the three year project “Improving Environment for Businesses at Local Level through Regulatory Reform” which has been realized with financial support of Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), website of SCTM reports (www.skgo.org).
The Goal of the Project is improvement of the business environment in Serbian municipalities, through simplifying administrative processes and procedures, which in many cases hinder and delay business activities on local level and have negative impact on local economic development and new employment.
Activities of the Project will be founded on two main pillars, designed to address specific needs of both small municipalities and bigger more developed towns and municipalities, in the following way:
Model development for the chosen groups of simplified procedures, specially designed for smaller municipalities and their testing through implementing in 10 chosen municipalities, with continuous building of capacities of local administrative personnel for the implementation of those models;
Systematic regulatory reform of business administrative procedures and introducing analysis of the effects of the procedures (AEP) in 6 chosen towns/municipalities, with the aim of reducing the costs, development of the framework for sustainable development and increasing transparency of the work of local governance, SCTM website reports.
