Public hearing for the Draft Strategy for Regulatory Reform and Improvement of the System of Public Policies held

On 07 October 2015, the Republic Secretariat for Public Policy organized for representatives of civil society a public hearing for the Draft Strategy for Regulatory Reform and Improvement of the System of Public Policies 2015-2020. About 30 representatives of civil society had an opportunity to follow the presentation of the Draft Strategy and its Action Plan for the period 2015-2017. On that occasion, participants took an active part in the debate, presenting their proposals, suggestions and comments to improve the text of the Strategy and Action Plan.
A public hearing was attended by OPTIMUS representative Katarina Milanovic. On this occasion Mrs. Milanovic presented her recommendations in accordance with years of experience in the implementation of regulatory reforms in Serbia and the Region.
The key objectives of this strategy are to link the individual elements of planning, budgeting and decision-making on public policies into a single system, as well as achieving a higher quality of legislation and reducing administrative costs for businesses and citizens. Improving the transparency of the legislative process and enhancing the role of the private sector and civil society in the process of public policy is an additional objective to be achieved.
The program of public hearings also includes the following events:
• 12 October 2015, at 10.30 AM in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Resavska 13-15 - Round table for representatives of businesses;
• On 14 October 2015, at 9.30 am in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia (small hall), King Milan 14 - Round table for representatives of the state administration;
• On 21 October 2015, at 9.30, the National Bank of Serbia - Amphitheater (Entrance from Svetozar Markovic), Nemanjina 17 - Closing conference.
