Fast lane to construction permits in the City of Kraljevo

Local government in Kraljevo initiated the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation which presents the basis for ex officio obtaining of documents required in the licensing process in the field of construction from eight public companies and Cadastre. The ceremony of signing the Agreement was held on Friday 13th February at the premises of the City of Kraljevo. The event was attended by representatives of the City of Kraljevo, directors of public companies and organizations and representatives of OPTIMUS - Center for Good Governance.
An aim of the Аgreement is to increase efficiency and improve service quality, based on the Amendments to the Law on Planning and Construction which introduced the obligation of establishing the One-Stop-Shop, which represents an innovative mechanism of the licensing process in the field of construction.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement represents a new step in the reform of the City Administration and other bodies through the improvement of communication, coordination and exchange of information and documents, thus simplifying the process of issuing permits, consents and other acts.
"Establishing the One-Stop-Shop will improve performance and will accelerate obtaining the necessary permits in the construction industry, which is extremely important, not only because of the increase of newly constructed buildings in our city, but also to attract new investments." said Tomislav Ilic, Mayor of the City of Kraljevo.
Katarina Milanovic, Deputy Director of OPTIMUS added: "Establishing the One-Stop-Shop introduces the City of Kraljevo and other Parties in a small circle of institutions that improved their business in this way and took the initiative to collect the necessary documentation on behalf of parties so far."
This initiative has been implemented under the project "Improving environment for businesses at local level through regulatory reform", which has been realized in the City of Kraljevo since November 2012. The project is implemented by the City of Kraljevo, OPTIMUS-Center for Good Governance and SCTM, and is financially supported by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs - SECO.
