OPTIMUS presented the Protocol on Cooperation between public utilities and local governments on the STCM Local Economic Development Network meeting

“How to Establish Successful Communication with Local and Republic Public Utilities”- was the topic of the OPTIMUS representative Sladjana Karavdic Kocevic presentation at the LED Network meeting. On that occasion, Sladjana presented the Protocol on Cooperation between public utilities, local government and other institutions, which was drafted within the Project “Improving Environment for Businesses at Local Level through Regulatory Reform”.

Cooperation Protocol introduces the new mechanism of ex officio obtaining of documentation between the City Administration, utilities, institutions and organizations involved in various administrative procedures resolving. It is aimed to simplify the procedures for the clients through: reducing the number of steps and establishing of one stop shop system, reducing the time of waiting for the clients (“time is money” principle), as well as through the efficiency increase in the functioning of the authorities. All of the above can be achieved through the improvement of internal communication, coordination, exchange of information and documentation between the sides who sign the Protocol.

OPTIMUS is currently helping the City administrations in Loznica and Kraljevo on the signing of the Protocol with public utilities and institutions, and assisting Novi Pazar in the implementation of the earlier signed Protocol.

The meeting was chaired by Sladjana Grujic, STCM Board for Economic Development Secretary, and Katarina Lija, the representative of the Swedish municipality rewarded for development, Radivoj Milosevic, the Municipality of Pecinci, Filip Mitrovic, the City of Pancevo, and Tamara Ciric, the City of Nis, presented the examples of good practice.

The meeting of the LED Network was held on Thursday, 15 May 2014, in the Hotel ”M” in Belgrade.
